Preparing for Thanksgiving

We are getting ready for our biggest event of the year at Unterwegs. Thanksgiving. We celebrate it here a week early and have a big feast for the students. We are expecting around 70 people to attend. Our normal events tend to max out around 30 people so this is a big deal for us and a big chance to bring in some new people to the community. Yesterday I had lunch and dinner at the homes of two different groups of students. I have been doing a lot of that lately. For those of you who don’t know I will be returning to Atlanta on December, 14th for a few weeks. That seems like it is just right around the corner. It gets dark very early here and today was very gray all day. When it is sunny here, it seems like a totally different place. I want to see everyone and talk about things and go do things but when its dark and gray and rainy, different story. But the ministry is doing well and we continue to grow and get new people every week. The typical German student is very relaxed and studious. This is something we are always trying to fight. We think 3 hours of studying in one day is plenty. I have had a lot of good conversations with students about life, family, significant others, and stuff like that. The hard thing is just being patient with them, there is so much to share but you just have to give it time. Thanks to everyone who is supported me through emails, comments, and other means. I have really appreciated it and knowing I have so many people praying for me keeps me going on long days. A lot of you have asked for my email address and mailing address so here it is. clgodwin at gmail.com
